This Minimoog specifically has had its case finished in black, which we think looks cool (and kinda goth, if you’re into that). It truly can be "none more black”, as they say. Additionally, the previous owner added Kevin Lightner’s awesome “optokey” kit, which changes the key triggering and CV system from a wire to bus bar system to an optical system, which some find more reliable than the mechanical nature of the original. It features the old cream wheels.
Almost all minimoogs we sell, unless otherwise specified, feature the earlier 3046 based oscillator card often referred to as the “old oscillator card”. They all feature our complete service kit, so have all been recapped of their aged electrolytic capacitors, have a rebuilt keyboard using our locally made bushings, a polished CV bus bar, and feature our popular trimmer set that allows ease of tuning from the back panel without the need for non conductive tools. To make tuning even better, we also perform a service to the oscillator card so that it tracks better, and stays in tune longer across temperature ranges.
Additionally, our minimoogs all feature the Moog dead band modification, which gives the pitch wheel a proper zero position when centered, so you can be sure it’s in tune when returned to center. We do all of this without compromising the original sound of the instrument that has made its mark on the history of music. None of the magic is lost! If anything, our service makes it perform as if it were right from the factory, albeit maybe a bit less frustrating with temperature fluctuations.
